Manuele Crisolora a Costantinopoli

Abstract The identification of a “new” handwriting Manuel Chrysoloras allows to assign him number hitherto unpublished witnesses, all preceding his teaching activity in Florence from 1397. This new dossier illustrates Chrysoloras’ youth Constantinople, providing precious and so far unknown information on family, father John, studies the anti-Palamite milieux with Isaac Argyros Demetrios Kydones, and, course, books, graphic education, readings. Among these, special place is occupied by Aristotle’s logic: particular attention therefore paid mock-up manuscript containing Organon marginal commentary, here attributed realized well-known master Argyros.
